(Taipei, Taiwan—June 24, 2011) A solution has been provided by Netstor Technology for using up to three PCIe audio DSP accelerator cards in an external expansion system. In the tests with the Netstor TurboBox™ and its ExpressCard/34 and PCIe host adapter cards carried out by Universal Audio, the expansion chassis performed very well. The engineers were able to obtain maximum performance with three UAD-2 cards installed in the chassis, and achieve the maximum possible plug-in/instance counts without any additional host load.
Netstor’s TurboBox™ NA211A has been released for professional audio/sound developers and designers engaging in audio projects. Up to three audio DSP accelerator cards can be employed in Netstor’s TurboBox™ NA211A, providing perfect solutions to Macintosh systems including Mac Pro and MacBook Pro. TurboBox™ NA211A offers a solution to PCIe slot shortage on Mac Pro. Additional three PCIe slots are provided as soon as TurboBox™ NA211A connects to Mac Pro, solving immediately the problem of PCIe slot shortage on Mac Pro.
Netstor also releases a smaller version of TurboBox™ named TurboBox-mini™ NA221A. This smaller version, NA221A, is a one-PCIe-slot design, primarily to be used with MacBook Pro. TurboBox-mini™ NA221A is small, exquisite, and handy. It allows one PCIe audio DSP accelerator card to be installed inside NA221A. Connecting to MacBook Pro, it makes MacBook Pro be able to perform the ability and capability that is originally possessed only by Mac Pro.
