IDT PCI Express Switch Selected by Magma for PCI Express Expansion Systems

(IDT^®) (NASDAQ:IDTI - News), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that Magma has chosen the IDT 89HPES64H16G2 PCI Express Gen2 switch for its ExpressBox⁷ x8 Gen2 Outside the Box PCI Express Solution. The ExpressBox⁷ x8 Gen2 joins the highly successful line of PCI Express Expansion Systems designed by Magma, providing IT professionals with limitless I/O expansion options for server, storage, and display clustering and virtualization.

The IDT 89HPES64H16G2 is a highly configurable, high-performance 64-lane, 16-port PCI Express Gen 2 switch. The switch is comprised of eight 8-lane ports running at 5 GT/s, each of which can be bifurcated into two 4-lane ports. The high performance device also delivers unique features such as spread spectrum clock isolation, multicast, and PCIe domain partitioning. The high lane count, extensive configuration flexibility, and low latency of the IDT switch enables Magma to provide maximum throughput and transactions per second to deliver high performance and scalability for customers needing to expand their PCI Express systems.
