Applying Registry Hacks For Windows 7 and Windows Vista ( to fix Code 12 and 31)

Computer: Laptop or Desktop / Server / Workstation

Operating System: Windows 7 and Windows Vista

Application: Any PCIE cards

Problem: PCIE cards are not getting detected. PCI to PCI bridges are showing error codes ( it can be code 12 or 31)

Problem Solution:

Verify first what the error code is in Windiows Device Manager.
If it is either error Code 12 or 31 you can fix that by applying the registry patch, see attached.

I have included 3 files that you will need to rename the extension from .txt to .reg and merge with Windows 7 registry.

You can try each of the setting, 200, then 400, then 600.
Try the SP1REG200 first, see if it fixes the problem. If not, use the next patch.
• Make sure to back up your registry info before applying this patch.
• And do not apply all the patches together. Start with one patch first, and if it fails to work remove it and then apply the next one.
• It’s important to reboot your laptop after testing each of the registry setting.

You can also download the the registry patch files from this link:
