Please could you specify MacBook Pro model identifier for the above results.

Thanks

MacBookl Pro 5,3 used in this ProTools testing

Same questions/issues as raised in this thread:

http://expansionsystem.com/group/magma/forum/topics/what-macbook-pr...

Regardless of what MacBook Pro models you use it would give you the same output / track counts

The only MacBook Pro that didn't work is the MacBook Pro with model ID 5,1.

The Model Identifier is not specific. 5 stands for generation and 1 is revision of the motherboard.

For example a MacBook pro model ABC has XY Processor and MacBook Pro model CDE has YY processor both units can have the same Model Identifier.

So far, we have not tested the newer release models of MacBook Pro Core i5 and i7

Thanks for the clarification, so they all work apart from model 5,1 (notwithstanding the latest models which are, as yet, untested)

I have a 5,2 model which works, but the systemuiserver process continually crashes (menu bar items) Any fix for this?

I have a MacBook Pro 4,1 that works too. But I also have the systemuiserver process crasing and the menu bar items not showing/not working properly. Any fix for this? It has happened with PT 8HD as well as PT 9HD. 4GB RAM, OSX 10.6.7 (happened with all versions of Snow Leopard). Other expresscards work fine, such as a Symphony mobile. Only Magma's seem to behave this way.
This is a normal behavior especially when using ProTools and Magma Expansion chassis.
I've found out that it only happens when you're running Pro Tools, any other audio-video PCI cards such Osprey Viewcast don't show this anomaly.
There's nothing to worry about the menu finder disappearing when running Pro Tools.
